Wedding season 2025: what we did differently
Sixty-one weddings between January and May 2025. We did three things differently this year vs 2024 — here's what changed and what we learned.
What we changed
1. We capped weddings per Saturday. Last year we took every wedding offered. This year we capped at 4 weddings per Saturday and turned away 11. Quality went up; team burnout went down. We'll keep the cap.
2. We pre-installed Friday afternoon for Saturday weddings. New process: arches, hanging florals, and large installations go in Friday afternoon, ribbons and finishing touches Saturday morning. Reduced same-day stress meaningfully.
3. We started photographing weddings ourselves. Brides and grooms got our photos before they got the official photographer's. Two of them said our photos were the ones they sent family. We'll continue.
What we learned
- Smaller, denser bouquets continue to be the trend. Bridal hand-tieds shrunk from 35cm to 28cm average.
- Olive and dried wheat are now the structural neutrals; pampas is over.
- Couples increasingly want the breakdown of where the budget goes — line by line. We started providing it; satisfaction rose.
- Same-day backup arrangements for ceremonies are now standard for us — one extra centerpiece, two extra boutonnieres, in case something goes wrong.
Q3 wedding bookings
