Mother's Day 2023: the arrangements mums actually like

Asked twenty mothers what they'd most like to receive on Mother's Day. The answers were not what their adult children typically order. Here's the gap, and what we're going to recommend this year.

What kids order vs what mums want

We surveyed twenty regular mum-recipients. Their most-wanted arrangements:

  • Garden roses + greenery, soft tones, not big arrangements of red roses. *"Red roses are for romance. I'm not romancing my son."*
  • Subtly scented, never overpowering. *"Lilies make my eyeballs hurt."*
  • In a vase she can keep, not the cellophane bouquet. *"The vase is the gift that stays."*
  • Smaller and more thoughtful, not larger and more impressive. *"AED 800 of flowers feels like he's overcompensating."*

What kids order

  • Big mixed bouquets in cellophane
  • Heavy on red roses
  • Often with overpowering lilies
  • Sized to look "like a lot"

The gap

Most kids order with a "more is more" instinct. Most mums want curated. So this Mother's Day we're leading with three deliberately *smaller* arrangements, all in keeper vases:

  • The Soft Pink Garden — AED 240, in a soft cream ceramic vase
  • The Eucalyptus + Cream — AED 280, in a brushed-bronze cylinder
  • The Pastel Petite — AED 180, in a small handblown bowl

Pre-orders open 1 March. Mother's Day in the GCC: 21 March 2023.
